The Selangor State Government believes that the economic growth in Selangor will be more meaningful with matching social development of the people. The thrust on community development is therefore an important agenda. Thus, KDEB has been entrusted with the role of being the investment arm of the State's administration with community and environment as specific areas of focus towards corporate excellence.

Incorporated on August 12, 1985 as SB Development Sdn Bhd, KDEB assumed its present name on January 11,1995. It has an authorised capital of RM200 million and an issued and paid-up capital of RM168.3 million. KDEB has notched up tremendous achievements to become one of the largest corporations in the country.
